Karlup Aboriginal Corporation is proud to be working in partnership with Wanslea and Indigo Junction to deliver a high-quality, culturally responsive family support service for local families.
This collaboration brings together three organisations with a shared commitment: to walk alongside families with respect, dignity and practical support—strengthening safety, wellbeing and connection over time.
Drawing on the strengths of three organisations
Each partner brings unique strengths that, when combined, create a stronger service for families:
Karlup Aboriginal Corporation brings a deep, place-based understanding of local Noongar community, guided by cultural authority and community-led governance. Karlup’s role is grounded in relationship, cultural safety, and ensuring the service reflects local priorities, values and lived realities.
Indigo Junction brings extensive experience in community services and working with families experiencing complex and intersecting challenges. With a strong presence in the local area, Indigo Junction offers practical, trauma-informed support and a well-established approach to working in ways that are respectful, strengths-based and responsive.
Wanslea brings specialist expertise in family support and child-focused practice, supported by strong service systems, professional development and evidence-informed approaches. Wanslea’s experience strengthens consistency, quality, and the structures needed to deliver effective support over time.
Together, this partnership creates a service model that is community-connectedfamily-centred, and built for quality—with the right mix of cultural leadership, on-the-ground community relationships, and professional family support capability.
Taking the time to listen first
Before rushing into service delivery, our consortium is intentionally taking the time to deeply understand community perspectives and ensure our approach is shaped by the people we are here to support.
This includes:
  • listening to local voices and community priorities
  • strengthening relationships and shared understandings across the team
  • yarning about what safety, support and healing look like in this community
  • aligning our ways of working so families experience a consistent, respectful approach
  • collaboratively developing practice approaches that reflect culture, place and real-world needs
We know that quality support starts with trust—and trust is built through genuine relationships, humility, and a willingness to learn. By preparing together, we are building a shared foundation for how we will show up with families: with care, consistency, and accountability.
A shared commitment to families
Our partnership is more than an agreement—it’s a commitment to work side-by-side, bringing our strengths together in service of families.
As we move forward, Karlup, Wanslea and Indigo Junction are focused on delivering a family support service that is:
  • culturally safe and community-informed
  • strengths-based and practical
  • grounded in relationship and respectful engagement
  • coordinated, consistent and high-quality
We look forward to walking alongside local families and community—listening deeply, responding thoughtfully, and supporting outcomes that families define for themselves.
The Intensive Family Support Service is supported by the Dept of Communities.
